The eternal debate- Destiny or Free Will?

The other day I was part of an online discussion on Naadi Scriptures on which one of my friends opined as follows : "All these scriptures are written in Sanskrit-Tamil mix and written in the form of a verse. So it depends on the serenity/purity of the person who is interpreting/explaining the thing". My response was what is seen below... "I agree. The problem is with the Astrologer and not with Astrology! Just like a good doctor, one needs to be a skilled astrologer to be well known in that profession. Unfortunately most of them are out to ensure their Roti, Kapda, Makaan and not genuinely interested in their work, with a few exceptions. Complicating the matter further are the puzzle-like verses. Also, lest we forget, fried chicken will not jump into our mouths in spite of all the predictions. We need to DO SOMETHING for that to happen ! We can also DO SOMETHING to avoid a bad destiny like Markandeya did http://www.indiantemples.com/beliefs/kaalasamhara.htm The blue-print of the Universe and the destinies of it's inhabitants is far more complicated than we think and is a dynamic one. The movie is in the making as it is being viewed and is influenced by several forces simultaneously! God is not an ordinary director and creation is not an ordinary movie!"
