Food for thought

Just sharing a strange thought/theory that crossed my mind. It has no logic or basis but still here it is :-)

Assumption:

At any given point of time there can only be a certain fixed number of living beings on Earth.

Fact:

It is becoming increasingly difficult for species other than human beings to survive due to (human) encroachment, (environmental) pollution etc. Consequently the other 'souls' are forced to take birth as humans but with their innate qualities (animal/bird/insect etc.) dominant in them.

Result:

We are increasingly coming across living beings that look like humans but behave more like animals!!

Conclusion:

Live and let live. Let's share the planet with all the other species so that they can be who they were intended to be!

World Poverty Rising: Over 1 Billion People Hungry in 2009

FYI. A few suggestions on how we could help

  • Let's not waste food (Annam Brahma)
  • Let's feed the hungry (humans, animals, birds and insects) whenever and wherever we can (Charity is not giving a dog a biscuit. Charity is giving a dog a biscuit when you are as hungry as the dog)
  • Make http://www.bhookh.com or anything else similar your homepage and click once everyday.
  • Let's not overeat (sounds funny but it's a win-win situation :-))
  • Let's remember that everything in this Universe is interconnected and interdependent (A situation where somebody is well fed and somebody is malnourished will eventually lead to social unrest)

World Poverty Rising: Over 1 Billion People Hungry in 2009

23 October 2009. The United Nations has said that, for the first time in history, there are more than 1 billion people going hungry. This number has jumped by 100 million as a direct result of the Financial Crisis. Hunger is no longer a result of natural disaster; it is a man-made problem.

Hunger in India: The Crisis Worsens

13 November 2009. Despite its economic successes, India leads the world in hunger. The monsoon failure, followed by torrential rains at the end of the season that destroyed more crops, has led to growth in the numbers of food insecure to an estimated 220 million. While the government has done will to increase access to funds, the key is technology. A second Green Revolution is needed to take advantage of less thirsty crop varieties, sprinklers to reduce water usage, and even lasers to level fields.

Empty tumblers!

'Never raise your voice...just improve the quality of your argument...it is empty tumblers that make more noise'
