High ideals anyone?

Two kinds of people are seen to live by very high ideals in their lives

• The very great
• The very foolish!

In which category the world finally chooses to put these 'high-ideal-people' depends on how long these people stick to their ideals! If they go the whole hog (like Christ, Gandhi, Bhagat Singh, Lagaan's Bhuvan, IIM-L's Manjunath...) then the world never tires of saluting them; but if they abandon their ideals somewhere in between and become like the rest of the 'silk worm people' (roti-kapda-makaan... and then one day 'blUnk'), then they get categorized as the latter type!

So the choice before us:

• Be one among the very great (this requires great faith in the higher powers and the after-life both of which sound funny to many!)
• Be one among the very foolish (I call them so as they get to savour neither 'this' world nor 'that')
• Be one among the 'silk worm people' (most of us fall into this category, don't we? :-))
• Be one among the villainous (life is great fun here until one's karma catches up with him/her. e.g Abu Salem, Monica Bedi...)
